The Global Voice of Generosity
This year I have had the opportunity to travel to India, China and Hong Kong (OK, Hong Kong is technically China, but it sure doesn’t feel like it). I have been with Latin American leaders from Central and South America through TWR, Nigerian seminary students and faculty through West Africa Theological Seminary and Asian church and ministry leaders in Bangalore and Beijing. I have met with wonderful new colleagues from Egypt, the Philippines, Europe…and even Canada. In all this I have been blessed and humbled by the depth of understanding and teaching on generosity and stewardship from these brothers and sisters in Christ. We need to hear their voices.
To that end, over the next few weeks I will be featuring guest blogs from friends around the world who are passionate about furthering biblical generosity, equipping steward leaders, and raising kingdom resources in God-honoring ways. I pray you will enjoy the perspectives they bring to the conversation.
It is my great privilege to share my blog space with these writers and thinkers.
You should also be encouraged to know that there is a growing international movement among God’s people around the subject of generosity. Generosity has been called the ‘new evangelism’ because of its ability to touch hearts and transcend cultures. Kingdom Life Publishing has been invited to play a small part in the movement. We are partnering with the Global Generosity Network to produce and publish a new book on global generosity. It will feature perspectives from India, Africa, South America and Europe all focused on the Bible’s message of generosity and how it is lived out in different cultural contexts. It will be available mid-2014. I look forward to sharing it with you.
For now, please enjoy these voices, and rejoice in the movement of the Spirit that is lighting a flame for generosity in countless places around the world.
What is God doing in your life to excite you to a life a greater generosity?
