This story is a fictional depiction of my last twenty years of work. Wow, that’s a big statement, but it’s true. Over these two decades I have worked to be faithful in describing and teaching the steward theology we have been given. In books, articles, blogs, training curriculum, online courses and speaking events, I have been trying to unpack this rich, biblical worldview for as many as would listen.
Most all of this work has been non-fiction, with the exception of the trilogy, The Third Conversion, The Million Dollar Dime and The Seventh Key. What I learned from these three ‘novelettes’ is the power of fiction to convey principles in ways that touch the heart and move the spirit.
That’s why Jesus used parables. And The Four Gifts of the King is exactly that, a parable that unfolds in the midst of an emotionally charged moment in the life of a dysfunctional family. As you have followed my blogs and my books, you will recognize the larger themes that run through the story.
